WHERE ARE MEETINGS HELD?

Before we meet, we will always have a telephone conversation first to ensure we can help. If you prefer to deal via phone and e-mail, we are more than happy to accommodate. We could meet you at a convenient location suitable to you; this will likely be your home, but we could also come to your office or another mutually convenient place.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A MEETING?

No. All meetings and appointments are free of charge. Typically, we do not charge a fee for arranging a mortgage, however the actual fee will depend on your circumstances and will not exceed 1% of the mortgage amount.

ARE YOU REGULATED?

Yes. As a firm, we are an Appointed Representative of Stonebridge Mortgage Solutions Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

WHAT PART OF THE MORTGAGE PROCESS CAN YOU HELP ME WITH?

From start to finish! Whether you want to know if moving is the best option, an analysis of the fees involved in buying and selling, help with the negotiation of the purchase, guidance in finding the most suitable mortgage, advice on the legal side of things or help with protection (or all of the above!), we can help.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR AN AGREEMENT IN PRINCIPLE (AIP)?

There is no charge for an AIP. There may be a fee for arranging a mortgage and the precise amount will depend on your circumstances and will not exceed 1% of the mortgage amount.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?

The mortgage application to offer stage typically takes between two working days to four weeks, depending on your situation. The sale of a house takes between six to twelve weeks on average, depending on how many home movers are in the chain.

WHAT FEES DO YOU CHARGE?

Typically, we do not charge a fee for arranging a mortgage, however the actual fee will depend on your circumstances and will not exceed 1% of the mortgage amount.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY APPLICATION GETS REJECTED?

We would replace the application with another lender, subject to the rejected reason.

DO YOU ARRANGE MORTGAGES IN THE WHOLE OF THE UK?

Yes, we are specialists in Scottish and English Mortgages.

DO I NEED A SOLICITOR?

Yes, you do and we will appoint one unless you have one in place already. Their fees will depend on your circumstances and are usually paid once around a week before your new mortgage starts

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I’VE GOT AN OFFER?

Once an offer comes through, we will arrange another meeting to ensure the offer is correct and walk you through the next steps.

DO I NEED TO HAVE LIFE INSURANCE?

Life insurance if not a requirement of the mortgage lender, but it is something we always recommend you have in place to protect your family. We also provide Critical Illness and Income Protection insurance, which may also suit your individual and family needs. You can learn more about the protection we can arrange for you here.
